Global ranking

Largest stock exchanges in the world

Exchanges ranked by the market capitalization of their domestic listed companies at the end of June 2026, in US dollars, from World Federation of Exchanges statistics.

Reporting date: end of June 2026. Every figure is for the same month; exchanges report to the WFE at different speeds, so a newer month is added once all of them have reported. Values are in billions of US dollars. Rankings cover exchanges profiled on WSE.

How market size is compared

Market capitalization is the share price times the number of shares outstanding of an exchangeโ€™s domestic listed companies. Investment funds are excluded. A comparable ranking uses one reporting date and one currency; the WFE converts each exchangeโ€™s figure to US dollars at month-end exchange rates.

Why rankings can disagree

Different publications may combine venues, include foreign listings, use different exchange-rate dates or measure total market capitalization rather than domestic listings. A company listed on two exchanges, as is common in India, counts towards both, so exchange figures should not be added up into a country total.
